America’s Heroes at Work: dol.gov/vets/ahaw/
This site is a Department of Labor technical assistance and public awareness campaign targeting America’s employers. America’s Heroes at Work focuses on the employment challenges of returning service members and veterans living with Traumatic Brain Injury and/or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The initiative equips employers and military support systems with the tools they need to help veterans affected by these conditions succeed in the workplace.

Veterans Employment and Training Service (VETS) is also working with the private sector to increase the employment of veterans and returning service members. The first of these initiatives is with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber, in partnership with VETS and ESGR, will have conducted more than 400 hiring fairs for veterans, transitioning service members and their spouses by the end of this year. Through this partnership, the Chamber and its affiliates secure the participation of employers, while the VETS team and ESGR focus on participation by veterans, transitioning service members, and their spouses.

The trucking industry in general has nearly 200,000 unfilled jobs for skilled truck drivers with commercial driver’s licenses. Ryder Trucking is one company that is actively recruiting veterans on its website.

U.S. Green Building Council: usgbc.org
The “green” building industry is looking for LEED-certified construction workers, and this site provides a comprehensive listing of green jobs. Veterans can get that LEED certification reimbursed by the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The U.S. Green Building Council has 15,000 member companies who have pledged to hire veterans.
